Description

Our high school, John V. Lindsay Wildcat Academy Charter School (with campuses in Hunts Point and Lower Manhattan), has been offering our students real-world internship experiences since 1993. JVL Wildcat Academy students come from all 5 boroughs, and can participate in worksite assignments all over the city.

During the school year, students attend school every other week; the alternate week they participate in minimum 20-hour internships in construction, health care, office support, theater, childcare, community development, education, etc. in all 5 boroughs.

Each assignment is for a minimum of one term (Sept-Jan, Feb-June and six weeks during the summer) and the intern is free! We ask in return that you take a minimum of one intern per week and that they be involved in "meaningful work" for a minimum of 20 hours, be trained, supervised and evaluated and have experiences that will assist them in career choices.

Interns must submit a supervisor-signed timesheet each week to receive credit.
