We have one furnished room (12X11)ft, available in a three bedroom apartment the rent is $575 per month, starting from October 24, 2009, we wont charge for the last week. One month deposit is required, there is an additional $40.00/month for utilities such as electricity, tv cable, and high speed internet.

Fresh Meadows is a very open place, green and quiet. On the map, you can see there are big parks not one, but many- just half a mile away. I take walks on many nights on the roads, which is like roaming in the garden.

St. John's University is at a 5 minutes drive, or 10 minutes on the bus, from our house. Q17 and Q88 buses are available a block away. These buses are very frequent. From these buses, you can reach the Union Turnpike-Kew Gardens station (for E and F trains) in 20 minutes, or the Flushing/Main Street station (for 7 train) in 25 minutes.
Express buses are also available with 4 min walk from home (QMIA and QM1, these buses run every 15 minutes during rush hours. One go to midtown manhattan in front of macy and the other goes to downtown near wall street. Their full schedule are available at:

Shops are also nearby, Rite aid, Supermarket, Citibank are 4 minute walk and etc.CVS, Kohls, Chase bank, Capital one bank, Filenes basemant, Post Office, Library, Movie theater, Starbucks, and etc are 10 min walking distance. I work as a consultant in IT industry. I rarely stay at home, as my work keeps me busy and I usually go out to see my friends and family, during the weekends. If you take E or F train, sit in the last car. Take Q46 bus. Get off at 188th St.
EITHER
Make a left on 188th St. wrt the direction of bus. Walk blocks (equivalent to 4 blocks, since one block is big).

OR
Take Q17 bus going towards Flushing. Get off at 73rd Ave (takes 2-4 minutes)
