Fiberglass grating (orthophthalic polyester resin unit) is an excellent alternative for wood or composite decking in commercial and residential use. <br>
Wood decking will need to be painted very year and has short life span. Composite material <br>
will conduct heat (gets very hot under summer sun) and wrap. Fiberglass grating has 65% open space and <br>
qualified as pervious surface area under DEC’s stringent wet land regulation. Practically no maintenance, bird or <br>
animal droppings can be hosed down between the open spaces or after a heavy rain. Non-conductive and lightweight <br>
50% higher tensile strength than hot rolled steel. For 18” span center load of 300lbs, deflection = .007 inches.<br>
