Global Financial Institution located in New York City has an immediate Full Time opening for a Senior Flex/Java Developer.


Description:

The Facing, Book Building & Analytics Practice Area develops and supports applications for all business units in Brokerage which require such functionality and for some of Brokerages most prestigious clients. The team is a truly global group, with members of the team based in London, New York, India and Montreal.

This team is looking for a Senior Java Service Developer to be based in the New York, NY office to work initially on an options analytics application. However, the successful applicants would also have additional responsibility to develop, enhance and maintain other new or existing applications. The person in this role will have good technical and analytical skills and will work in the team to deliver robust IT solutions to the business within time and cost.


Roles and responsibilities include:

Developing quality software, which meets the business requirements in an effective and efficient manner.

Adhering to standards as well as contributing to make the SDLC process more robust.

Keeping abreast of latest in technology developments.

An ideal candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm for new technology and an eagerness to learn. He/she will also be able to handle competing demands on time and manage his/her own work to deadlines, and must demonstrate strong communication skills as well as sound judgment. Technology and the business are both changing quickly and the role will offer good opportunity for growth to those who can evolve to meet the needs of the job.


Skills Required:

The candidate must possess a strong technology background with excellent hands-on expert level knowledge of Flex, Java and other Java based technologies.

About 10+ years of relevant Java development experience.

Strong OO design skills.

Strong experience in developing RIA applications using Adobe Flex, Action script

Expertise in development tools such as Eclipse, Ant, JUnit etc.

Experience working with Java

Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to express their thoughts effectively.

Strong team working ability in local and global teams.
