Part-time janitorial work to be done at small apartment building in Sunnyside, Queens.
Duties: 1. Trash.
2. Recyclables.
3. Outside Lights.
4. Sweeping.
5. Snow Removal.
1. Trash. You are responsible for putting plastic bags in the garbage cans that have been filled by the tenants. When they are full -- tie them closed and remove the closed bags and replace with new bags. Move closed bags to the curb twice a week on our collection days after 5PM.
2. Recyclables. Must follow NYC recycling laws. Recycling garbage cans are marked for "paper" or "metal, glass, & plastic". Since the recycling cans have clear bags, it is very easy for you and the Sanitation Police to see if a non-recycling item has been placed in the bag by a tenant. You will have to remove the item that is in the incorrect bag and place it where it belongs.
3. Outside Lights. Replace outside bulbs when burned out.
4. Sweeping. Sweep around the exterior of the building. In front of the building you are required to sweep the area up to 18" from the curb.
5. Snow Removal. Must be removed by 11AM if it snowed overnight or after it snows during the daytime hours.

At this time there are no duties inside the building. More duties may be added in the future with a review and acceptance of the salary adjustment.

Job duties should take no more than 4 to 5 hours a week. Obviously, with snow removal more hours are required. Must be available for snow removal during day hours. Other duties are on your own schedule.
Candidate must be reliable and speak and understand English.
Must be available with a flexible schedule.
Must live in or near Sunnyside.

Do not respond if you only intend to show-up on the two days that garbage goes to the curb. If that is your intention, this job is not for you.
