Global Financial Firm located in New York , NY has an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Support Analyst.

Department Information:


Trader Workstation is global high performance Real Time pricing, trade capture and risk viewing application for Bonds, CDS, Loans

A predominately US-based team that develops and support this system. (It is written in Java Server Side with a C# GUI).

Team Structure


Team of 2 based in London, 2 in US and 2 based in Bangalore, providing Bond/CDS/Loans pricing

Team Function and responsibilities


Application support and on-going development for 40 Fixed Income traders in NYC. The main functions of the system are trade capture, pricing, STP and Real Time risk. Primarily support for each region is provided by the local support team but overlap does exist. The asset classes covered are bonds, swaps and CDS.

Role specific responsibilities


Role is for 1st/2nd line support.

Role is approximately 10% enhancements, 70% investigations and service requests, 20% system maintenance

The successful candidate would be working in a Front Office Application support role for at least 1.5 years in IT looking for a move to a more dynamic environment. The knowledge gained within this team is invaluable within Fixed Income.

Due to the nature of the markets the desks need to be supported from 7am to 7pm. This is covered on a shift basis. Weekend and Bank holiday support is often required and is shared amongst the team.

Deliverables: (Criteria/results by which success can be measured)


Quick resolution of production problems and clear feedback to traders and business management. Ownership of problems

Maintain a good relationship with the traders, keeping them informed of resolutions to problems, show them how to make best use of the systems

Maintenance of production systems

Documentation of new procedures


Required Skills:


Business knowledge:

Fixed Income Business Knowledge (Bonds, swaps, market conventions, accrued interest, price/yield relationships etc) and significant exposure to traders.

CDS pricing

Risk (CDS, Bonds, Loans)

Technical knowledge:


Unix Scripting

SQL

Excel-VBA skills

Self starter

Additional skills:


Clear, concise, confident communication with traders, projects team and within the team

Ability to work under pressure and multi-task

Building good working relationships with partnering IT teams
