Please take the time to read our ad & our website: dogwalkingforrainforests.com Check out the projects/groups we have donated to! Seeking a non-smoking Activist asap (Environmental, Human Rights, Civil Rights, vegetarian, etc) to be Dogwalker & Petsitter for Petservice Collective that donates to different activist and nonprofit projects. Preference given to prospective candidate that lives in or near Washington Heights, Hudson Heights, Inwood, West Harlem, Upper West Side, Bronx. Our current walker/sitter has been with us 5 years and will be unfortunately returning to her home as her mother is ill. Her clients and their pets have adored her. She has been responsible, flexible, patient, organized, consistent, kind and really an easy and wonderful person. She has been loyal to our group, its mission and the causes we donate to. We are looking for someone to fill her shoes. So yes her prospective replacement has a tough act to follow...however she has promised to thoroughly train whomever her replacement is. We seek someone who does not see this as a temp job but long term. As said our current walker has been with us 5 years. Clients do not like change. We are seeking someone to devote flexible full days during the monday to friday work week and often several walks on weekends as well as over night petsits. We are looking for someone who likes doing overnight petsits in their clients homes. The hours the collective is on for is 24/7 however your area (when not on a petsit) generally starts 10:30 a.m. and finishes at 5 or 6. Though it really depends on what your client needs. Sometimes they can ask for night walks, morning, or last minute walks. Sometimes you would finish earlier or start later. Also please no prejudice for different type of dogs and cats and mixes, mongrels, pits, handicapped dogs, nippy dogs, nervous cats etc. You should not be allergic to animals. We do promote biking... biking will make getting to clients in area easier and more time efficient though current walker has been relying on the subway. (If you are already an independent walker and want to join up with us-you are welcome - however the dogs/cats you are currently caring for would then be a part of the collective pool and a portion of those fees would go to nonprofits. Meaning due to boundaries it is best not to have a conflict of interests plus if you ever leave the collective you do not take, offer to take, accept to take any of the clients with you.) We seek a walker to be calm and clear-thinking in stressful situations. And be able to take constructive criticism. We are interested in helping the collective as a whole. So we are also helpful to eachothers areas as well. We try and put the professional needs of all the animals before any personal conflicts. We are not a dog-eat-dog communtiy. Lastly but no less important: We promote adopting pets over buying from petstores & breeders as well as humane population control through spaying and neutering. We are committed to the mission of protecting ecosystems through recycling, reducing waste, reducing our consumption of products that are detrimental to the environment. So carry a mug with you for that morning cup of tea or cafe! You are representing making a step towards bettering the world. We are committed to promoting all these ideals to our neighbors as well as to our clients in a respectful/appropriate manner. Contact us either at rainforestdogs@gmail.com or info@dogwalkingforrainforests.com. Expect one to two Full day interviews. And then a couple weeks of paid training before taking over the area. You will be getting 70% of all fees which will be between $350-$650 each week depending on how many walks and sits you have that week. If clients went away on vacation etc.
