Description Marymount Manhattan College invites applications for a one-year appointment to the position of Assistant Professor of Education and Department Chair, beginning September 2010, pending budget approval.


Assistant Professor of Education and Department Chair

Responsibilities: manage and represent the Education Program (approximately 50 undergraduates); teach courses and advise candidates pursuing elementary, secondary, or disabilities certification.

Requirements: expertise/experience in students with disabilities/special education; doctorate in education or related field; certification of a state education dept. in teaching or special education or supervision; knowledge of NYS certification requirements; college-level teaching and leadership experience in a school. Familiarity with NYC Dept. of Ed. preferred.


Application materials must include a cover letter, curriculum vita, samples of scholarship, syllabi, and three letters of recommendation.
