Max is quite the character and a very lovable guy: he loves people and being in your presence, would thrive with someone who works from home, for instance, or who does not leave him alone in a crate all day: he is social and calm, but loves company; we prefer him in a home without young children and other dogs, with guardians who can continue giving him his boundaries: he's a wonderful dog and has gone through too much to go back to boarding in a kennel cage; his current fabulous foster home is leaving soon and there are too many young kids to whom Max is not used to: we'd like to give him a more calm environment to grow into gracefully. Max has gone through the journey of a lifetime.. emaciated and lonely, found as a stray and brought to the high kill shelter in nyc, where he soon was on deathrow, Max managed to get rescued and spent some time in boarding, where they worked to socialize this quintessential stray little sturdy guy of about 5-6 yrs of age; he came along great, but still had to overcome surgery for a mast cell tumor on his leg; again, he did great at that; he now comes with a year supply of precious Chinese Herbs from famed Dr. Wen in Montauk as a follow up to his surgery: we never want the tumor to come back, and all signs point to health for Max, who fully deserves to spend the rest of his life in a great, loving and supporting home where he can get structure and obedience training as well as love; please, help us keep Max from returning to the kennel and settle into his very own loving & responsible home! email this post to receive an application, or call us with any quetions, 646 642 2227
