ELEVATOR DIRECTOR
Base 115k-140k p/ year plus excellent benefits.
Our Client (government agency) has retained our services in seeking a professional with broad elevator experience and demonstrated ability to direct, supervise and lead in the performance of elevator field operations.
The Office of the Elevator Director is charged with the responsibility of improving and modernizing the organizations elevator Fleet totaling 3,338 elevators, which make an average of 1.7 million trips per day, represent five percent of all the elevators in the City of New York and constitute one of the largest elevator fleets in the nation. The selected candidate will be required to administer rehabilitation and maintenance contracts; manage mandated inspections; oversee elevator modernization, training and quality assurance of field operations, route control and scheduling; improve efficiencies, safety and technical support; as well as recommend and approve expenditures for labor, materials, and other assets.
Qualification Requirements:
The candidate must be a licensed engineer with a Bachelor’s degree, and 10+ years of hands-on
experience in design, construction, installation, and maintenance of all types of vertical
transportation equipment and related industry standards. A valid Agency Elevator Director
certificate issued by the NYC Department of Buildings is required.
Skills Required:
Knowledge of the New York City Building Code and ASME Standards, solid technical, analytical, and communication skills is preferred.
