Hello! My name is Matt Clifton, and I am a Macintosh consultant with years of experience working with clients in New York City. I work with people who have Macs at home and need general advice, repairs, or lessons, and companies and organizations that do not have their own in-house technical support. What can I help you with? Everything! I can perform software and hardware installations, network configuration, troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance and upgrades, backups and data recovery. I can step you through the basics of using Macs, or help you learn specific programs such as iPhoto. I’ve worked with a wide swathe of Mac models, and a variety of software, including Apple, Microsoft, Adobe, Quark, Macromedia. I speak OS 9, OS X, and, yes, Windows if need be. I pride myself on: - Calming down clients who can often become panicked by an unfamiliar technical issue - Explaining the issue and proposed solution in human terms, not computer-jargon, but without condescension. - Ensuring that you are comfortable with the solution and happy with the results. - Completing the work in an efficient and professional manner Budgetary constraints are an important consideration for all of us, so why spend fruitless hours struggling with the technology when you’d rather be using it to earn your keep or live your life? I’m much friendlier than Tekserve, much more accessible than the Apple Geniuses, and I’ll come to you. No need to lug your Mac across town! My on-site rate is $60 an hour, with a minimum of one hour; I also offer telephone, email and instant-messenger support, at the same rate, with a half-hour minimum.
