Grey Boy is not the typical cat in need of assistance and adoption encountered by the Empty Cages Collective, but is needy nonetheless. Grey Boy (with Groucho, Princess I, and Princess II) were rescued from a hoarding/neglect situation in the Bronx. ECC was contacted by a social worker to help with a situation in the home of a disabled man who had 9 adult cats in his house, all intact and breeding kittens who died soon after birth. ECC went to the mans home, captured all of the (unsocialized) cats and had them vaccinated and spayed//neutered. ECC then took four of the cats for eventual placement. Grey Boy is an extraordinarily shy, but spirited cat. He is approximately 2 years old and was never socialized properly. He needs a special home with someone who is feline savvy or has a special situation for an under-socialized cat (a protected feral cat colony, a barn, or a large home without expectations for Groucho to be a lap cat). Grey Boy is a funny and attractive neutered grey domestic short haired cat. He is vaccinated, tested negative for feline leukemia/FIV, de-wormed and treated for other parasites. Please help Grey Boy find an understanding and loving person to give him a chance at the wonderful life he deserves.
