Academic Program Specialist, Division of Education


Queens College's Division of Education seeks an Academic Program Specialist to serve as the liaison between the college and the Queens School of Inquiry (QSI), a 6th-12th grade early college school with the mission of preparing young people for college. Through the QC/QSI partnership, students at QSI are able to earn college credits while earning a high school diploma. Working together with college and school personnel, the liaison will maintain and develop collaborations that serve to better prepare QSI students for college while fostering mutual learning among the faculty, staff, and students at the partnering institutions. The liaison is instrumental in facilitating students' progress and success by ensuring that appropriate collaborative support mechanisms are in place as administrative responsibilities are met. This full-time position will report directly to the Dean of Education.


Duties include but are not limited to:

Participating in the daily coordination of academic and administrative activities of the college's specialized academic program under management direction.

Supporting program development, student service delivery, outcome evaluation, and instructor/student recruitment, enrollment, and retention.

Recommending, implementing, and evaluating strategies to expand program offerings.

Preparing analytical and statistical reports for management.

Developing and maintaining relationships with various college offices to improve student and faculty services.

Serving as resource expert regarding program policies and procedures.

Overseeing office recordkeeping; managing updates of program web and print materials.


Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree and experience working collaboratively in school/university partnerships. Secondary-level teaching and some college experience preferred. Excellent communication skills required.


Compensation: $42,873-$74,133, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
